Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is done excellently at TDM and we are proud to offer students the opportunity to train in an environment that cultivates high levels of self-discipline, self-awareness and self-expression.

Our classes provide students with the chance to grow as a whole person, and have been specifically developed with a balanced focus on Singing and Dance skills; with each discipline being equally important to any student considering pursuing a professional career in the field of Performing Arts.

Students are encouraged to direct their natural talents in all aspects of musical theatre to develop the skills.

The emphasis is on practical training within a comprehensive range of dance and musical theatre skills.

Our Musical Theatre teacher has over 20 years experience and has performed on London’s West End and toured the UK in productions Cats, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang , Annie, Oliver, Crazy for you and many others.

Contemporary Dance

Contemporary dance places a heavy emphasis on the connection between mind and body, with dancers being encouraged to explore their emotions through dances that push against traditional boundaries.

This style of dance often involves a great deal of playing with balance, floorwork, fall and recovery, and improvisation. In contemporary dance classes, students learn to use their bodies in a variety of ways, and they focus on breathing, posture, constantly challenging themselves in creating pieces

Commercial is the most popular of all the dance styles that have evolved from hip hop culture./street dance Numerous choreographers and dance crews have had commercial success working with various musical artists, television shows and films.

Street dance / Hip Hop

Street dance combines the various urban street styles of popping, locking bboyinig and commercial dance into an exciting dance

Hip-hop dance refers to dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles. The original street dances include breaking ,popping and locking, younger forms of streetdance include krumping, house and more styles.

Jazz

Jazz dance emphasizes a strong technical foundation that enables a dancer to focus on the stylistic and performance aspects of dance.

Technique is essential is for an dancers want to peruse a career in dance.

There are several different styles of jazz in the world of dance – from funky jazz, commercial jazz, Broadway jazz and lyrical – here at TDM we keep up to date and push our dancers and give guidance for future career paths.

Jazz classes require some form of moderate intensity stretching in order to warm up the muscles and help prevent injuries. Dancers will work with our expert’s teachers on several styles and performances pieces through out the year – this class is a must for any dancer starting out.
